Fairfield Hospital CD-R
The Fairfield Infectious Diseases Hospital,Victoria, Australia (1904-1996) was the leading treatment and research centre for infectious diseases in Australia and among the top centres in the world. The famous "Iron Lung" Ward 12 was the major centre originally for polio, and later for MS and also Muscular Dystrophy patients needing mechanical ventilation.
Since the closure of the hospital as a centre of excellence with infectious diseases, a book has been written on its medical history.
Now with this CD-R with the focus on polio patients, which contains photos of buildings, wards, staff and patients. Lists of nurses, doctors, respirator workshop staff and long term patients of Ward 12 we hope to keep the memory of this famous hospital available to all.
